Brittany Turns 30

Dinner Party at Chris & Jackie’s

My little sister turned 30 on March 25th. To think I was just five years old when she was born. I remember telling my parents “everyone else at school has a brother or a sister and I have nobody. So, they finally got it together (lol) and created this little monster, I mean my little sister. Mom explained to me that she was having a baby. I proceeded to explain to her that it was a going to be a girl, and that we would name her Brittany. She tried her best to make sure I understood the sex of the baby had not been determined, but I continued to insist it was a girl……and look what popped out! A beautiful, bouncing, baby girl they let me name Brittany…I was so excited! I kissed her so much she got a rash on one of her cheeks. She was the cutest little thing, and then she grew up (I meant no harm by this statement…lol). We are are still as close as ever until this day.

Mr. Chris and Mrs. Jackie are friends of my parents and offered to host her birthday dinner. Mrs. Jackie cooked dinner and her husband prepared the dessert as well as the steaks. The meal was fantastic! The aroma and flavors that came out of that kitchen were sinful. We learned so much about preparing and cooking food. They made me realize I hadn’t been cooking all these years…lol! They prepared some of my sisters favorites: red snapper topped with crab meat, asparagus, sweet potatoes, steak, a delightful salad along with a dressing we learned to make from scratch, and for dessert there was cheesecake with lemon zest and a fruit tart. What more could we have asked for? We were all sitting around looking for pillows and a blanket after that meal. 

My best friend, my body guard on an as needed basis, whenever we are together we laugh ourselves crazy. She is always there when I need her, and I wouldn’t trade her for the world. Happy 30 Sister! Enjoy!

Side note: My dad and Brandon were the entertainment. After they performed we didn’t know whether to pay them or if they should have paid us as you can see in the pics. LOL!
