The last time I was hurt in a relationship, I remember telling God I didn’t care to start all over again and go through all the awkward phases and all the firsts. The thought of having to meet a new set of family members and friends was something I was no longer interested in doing. So God sent me someone familiar. Thank you for not listening to me.
I asked God for a man who would be patient with me and who understood me.
I asked God for a man who would accept me for who I am.
I asked God for a man who had a heart of compassion.
I asked God for a man with the same spiritual beliefs.
I asked God for a man who loved family and who wanted one of his own one day.
I asked God for a man who was supportive of whatever came my way.
I asked God for a man who would make me feel as safe and secure as my Father always has.
I asked God for a man who had common interests and who appreciates and values the same things in life.
I prayed through the duration of our relationship “God if he is for me make it clear, if not, please remove him from this aspect of my life”. That was one of the hardest prayers I’ve ever had to pray. The entire time I received nothing but confirmation to keep going. I asked God for someone who adores me the way my Dad adores my mom . My parents have always prayed for someone I could do life with. So God gave me you…and we’ve been smiling, laughing and enjoying life ever since.

Thank you so much for looking at the pics from our special day. We had a fabulous time with our friends and family. Those flowers have now been tried out and will be placed in a glass box. I loved them as well and hope I can preserve them.🤗

Humidity will spoil them, so if they are kept dry, they should be fine. You might put in a couple packets of silica gel, like you find in vitamin bottles, which absorb excess moisture. You can find silica gel packs at Michael’s or Walmart: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Tru-Spec-5222000-Silica-Gel-Desiccant-Bags-24-Count/40823813

I love this blog! It is incredibly heartfelt and well stated. I also find it interesting that you were praying for the same things that your dad and I prayed for. When God answers prayers, it comes with a special kind of peace, and I experienced that on your wedding day. Love my new “son” to pieces, and we look forward to years of creating special family memories with both of you!! Love and hugs! MOM
